Following on from the recent news that the faculty has been granted for the East End reorganistion project, work is now under way on the new furniture. We received a message from Treske, the furniture builders, to say that they are continuing to work despite the current difficult circumstances and they have sent us some photos of the early stages of the work in progress.
"I just wanted to reassure you that we are continuing to trade and the factory is still turning out furniture even under these very difficult circumstances. We are keeping everyone in the workshops and office at a safe distance from one another, even staggering breaks, plus obviously exercising the very strictest hygiene standards to try and keep everyone here, our local community and our customers safe and well.
I thought that you and the others at church might like to see the various stages of the furniture as it flows through so I plan to send you regular images to share the development from bits of wood to furniture. Today’s images are of the altar, altar rails and credence table as rough planks ready for planing before more detailed machining, and one of our machinists working on the next stage of the process with your chairs."
