Children are never too young to come to church and are very welcome at Christ Church. Please read Our Welcome to Children, which gives more details of the welcome we offer.

Junior Church aims to provide a fun environment for the children and young people of Christ Church to learn more about the Christian faith.

The children who regularly (or infrequently) come to Christ Church form a valuable part of our church family and the Junior Church leaders aim to ensure that they grow up with a knowledge and understanding of our faith.  As they grow older we hope to support them as they make their own decisions about what Christianity means to them and consider coming forward for admission to communion and confirmation.

To try and meet these aims we use sessions during the 10am Sunday service to learn about bible stories, discuss their relevance to us and of course to do some much loved colouring and crafts!  The children and their leaders leave the main service before the first reading and return after the peace allowing them the opportunity to take part in the ‘grown-up' service as well as learning in an environment that is more tailored to them.

Mary and Joseph present Jesus in the temple - as retold by Junior ChurchWe also arrange occasional all-age services which allow the children an opportunity to be part of the main congregation, and the adults a chance to appreciate our young people as they lead our prayers, provide our bible readings and occasionally help out with the sermon slot.

We are always happy to welcome more people to join Junior Church so everyone is welcome to come along on a Sunday morning to see what we get up to!
