Discovering and deepening faith is a journey, a pilgrimage to draw closer to God through our understanding of the life, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.
The Pilgrim Group would usually meet in the Lower Mews at 7:30pm on alternate Thursdays to discuss, laugh, pray and study together. However, during the coronavirus outbreak we are meeting online instead. If you would like to join us online, please contact Lore for instructions on how to join the virtual group.
The group began when a number of us wanted to study "The Pilgrim Course" written by theologians Stephen Cottrell, Steven Croft, Paula Gooder and Robert Atwell. We are still together and still called the Pilgrim Group.
During Spring/Summer 2020 we are studying John's Gospel in the light of Mark's Gospel. Richard Bauckham, British theologian and Biblical scholar, has suggested that the author of John’s Gospel knew Mark’s Gospel and assumed that his readers also did. The Pilgrim group have this in mind as we carefully and prayerfully work our way through the Gospel.
